Created on December 18th, 2006, UMMU is an association established in Geneva. Our mission is to promote the role and contribution of civil society on issues related to the sea, in a dynamic spirit of international cooperation. In accordance with the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter, its aim is to act in favour of a better balance between the social, economic and environmental dimensions. The aims of UMMU are considered by the Swiss Tax Department as being of public utility. Members of UMMU, stemming from various maritime sectors, are involved in assisting developing countries as well as sustainable development.
